Resident Evil Requiem is coming next year

After a very convincing tease that suggested news was in fact not incoming, Capcom just officially announced Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth mainline entry in the franchise. It launches on February 27th, 2026 on PC, PS5, and Xbox. The announcement came via a lengthy trailer that took quite a while before revealing itself to indeed be the next Resident Evil, focused instead on an office space. A GameStop damaged Switch 2 screens with staples, but they’re getting replaced

Some people reported an unwelcome surprise after picking up their Nintendo Switch 2 preorders at GameStop: staples used to attach receipts to Switch 2 boxes ended up damaging the screens on the console, as reported by IGN. However, GameStop says this was an issue that was “isolated” to a single store and that it has already offered replacements. For the past couple of years, the virtual FediForum conference has offered a glimpse at what’s new in the open social web, with last year’s big news being Threads’ foray into the fediverse. Though Universal’s decision to split Wicked‘s story across two films seemed a little iffy at first, the new trailer for Wicked: For Good makes it look like the studio knows exactly what it’s doing. Sony’s showcase had a pleasant surprise: the debut trailer for 007 First Light. The James Bond game — which has some definite Uncharted vibes — doesn’t have a release date, but is slated to launch sometime in 2026. PlayStation has announced Project Defiant, an arcade-style fighting stick that looks like it’ll be perfect to use with the newly announced Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection.
